Madrid-based VC firm Mundi Ventures launches LatAm fund I with $100M first close

Madrid-based venture capital firm Mundi Ventures has launched LatAm Fund I, a $100 million fund investing in technology-driven startups that expand financial and health protection across Latin America and the Caribbean. The first close is backed by IDB Invest and COFIDES.

  • Founded in 2015 by Javier Santiso, Mundi Ventures manages €1.5 billion in assets. The firm operates as a thematic platform, targeting emerging trends and supporting early-growth and growth-stage startups with AI-driven and deep-tech solutions. 
  • Its global portfolio includes companies such as Bolttech, Descartes, Shift, Klarna, and Job&Talent, as well as Latin American startups like Raincoat, Sami, Betterfly, and Olé Life.
  • LatAm Fund I will invest in startups across Fintech, Insurtech, Healthtech, Climate, and related sectors, emphasizing AI-native solutions, proprietary infrastructure, data-driven underwriting, intelligent risk models, and embedded distribution. 
  • The goal is to scale financial and health protection efficiently, helping startups reach millions across the region while building capital-efficient, technology-led businesses.
