Today, we are going deep into interesting CEE funding rounds that took place in July, the first month of Q3 2022. This time, IT, SaaS, Blockchain, and AI attracted investors' interests.

Better Stack

Founded in 2021, Czech Better Stack is a DevOps platform working on an improved observability stack for developers. To do so, the startup combines various features like monitoring, logging, incident management, and status pages into one platform. Recently secured a series A round of €18.2M from Creandum, Credo Ventures, K5 Global, Susa Ventures, Kaya.vc, and business angels will be allocated to supporting further growth and scale products at a faster pace.

Polish More Growth, founded in 2021, is a so-called venture builder. The company creates online brands and products to help users take care of their health and personal development. The company has recently secured one of the biggest Polish pre-seed rounds -  €4.95M, and secured funding will be used to increase team size and launch the first three brands. Among investors participating in the round were the most recognizable polish VC funds: bValue Venture Capital, Inovo Venture Partners, and Market One Capital.

Warsaw-based The Village Network is a SaaS-enabled marketplace that connects parents looking for high-quality childcare services. The company offers edtech products, an application for running nurseries, preschools, and school. The startup has recently been supported by 500 Startups, Credo Ventures, Movens Capital, and Tilia Impact Ventures, while funds secured in a €3.4M seed round will be allocated to further platform development. 

99math

Location: Tallinn, Estonia

Estonia-based 99math, founded in 2019, is an edtech platform that makes learning math fun. The platform engages students with gamification like multiplayer math games, tournaments, rewards, leveling up, and progress tracking. A recently secured venture round in the amount of €2.08M from Change Ventures, Flyer One Ventures, and Play Ventures will help the company add more social features and strengthen its presence in the US and Latin markets.  

Deepflare

Location: Warsaw, Poland

Warsaw-based Deepflare, founded in 2020, is a biotechnology startup that uses AI technology and ML models to develop mRNA vaccines and drugs against viral diseases like covid and more. Recently, Deepflare has been supported by Sunfish Partners, Lemonade Stand, and business angels, who participated in a €1.5M pre-seed round. Secured funding will be used to accelerate the development of the startup’s technology and international expansion. 

Choice

Choice is a SaaS solution for restaurants that brings a wide range of services, which cover all channels that a restaurant needs to communicate with their guests: a digital menu, a website for pick up and delivery, table reservations, QR payments, table ordering, and much more. The startup has recently secured a seed round of €1.55M from SJ&T Ventures, Presto Ventures, Purple Ventures, Reflex Capital, and Seedcamp. Obtained funding will support further app development. 

Salto X

Location: Tallinn, Estonia

Estonia-based Salto X is a web 3.0 startup reimagining stock options by building a remote-friendly alternative to stock options for European companies. By doing so, Salto X helps companies across Europe retain talent globally amidst an uncertain economic climate and an increasing talent and skills shortage. The startup has recently secured a €5.2M seed round from 3Commas, Blockwall Management, BoxGroup, byFounders, the business angel (ex-Sequoia GP), with plans to introduce its Incentive Tokens Plans.

HotelBuddy

Location: Tallinn, Estonia

Tallinn-based HotelBuddy is a hospitality startup providing hotels with a unified solution digitizing the whole check-in and check-out process. The software allows hotel employees to manage reservations, guest profiles, special requests, and track all ongoing processes. The startup has recently been backed by Startup Wise Guys with a €420K pre-seed round.  Funding will be spent on developing the product and expanding operations in the Baltics.

Yera

Founded in 2020, Estonian Yera is an employee engagement tool that aims to boost team engagement in routine work with custom rewards and unique experiences. The platform  leverages gaming elements, such as earning points for completing everyday tasks that the team members can exchange for meaningful prizes they can choose from. Recently secured funds (€535K seed round) from Specialist VC will be allocated to increasing the product development team and international expansion. 

Talkie.ai

Founded in 2020, Poland-based startup Talkie.ai is working on an AI-based platform with a mission to make fully automated customer service solutions that streamline and simplify telephone hotlines. The company has recently closed a seed round in the amount of €2.6M from 4growth VC, NCBR Investment Fund, Satus Starter, FundingBox Deep Tech Fund, Gateway Ventures, and Movens Capital, so the raised funds will be allocated to supercharge expansion in the US market.
