Helsinki-based AI infrastructure company Verda has raised $189 million in a Series B round led by Emergence Capital, with participation from Supermicro, MUFG Innovation Partners, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, Lifeline Ventures, 6 Degrees Capital, byFounders, Tesi, and angel investors Ola Tørudbakken and Mark Saroufim.
- Founded in 2020 by Ruben Bryon, Verda provides AI infrastructure spanning data centers, compute infrastructure, and cloud software for AI workloads. The company said it serves organizations across more than 50 countries and reached a $165 million annualized revenue run rate in July 2026.
- Verda currently operates data-center capacity in Finland and expects early deployments of NVIDIA’s VR200 NVL72 infrastructure in the coming months.
- The latest financing brings Verda’s total funding to more than $450 million across equity and debt and values the company at more than $1 billion, making it Europe’s latest unicorn.
Details of the deal
- With the fresh capital, Verda plans to launch its large-scale inference service, accelerate software development, and expand its compute and data-center capacity.
- The company expects to have more than 250 MW of operations in 2027, with additional capacity planned across Europe, the UK, the US, and Asia.
- The company also plans to expand its cloud platform with S3-compatible object storage and managed Kubernetes, while investing in enterprise features, performance engineering, and its AI Lab.
