Berlin-based quantum computing startup RhymeQ has raised $2.2 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Ground State Ventures, with participation from Vanagon Ventures, Plug and Play, and Freiraum Ventures, as Vestbee was informed.
- Founded in 2026 by Daniel Volz, Tamás Varga and Christina Wu, RhymeQ develops Rhyme, a software platform that enables developers with basic Python skills to program quantum computers without requiring specialist knowledge of quantum physics.
- Its compiler translates conventional code into instructions for quantum hardware, allowing developers to work across different quantum processors without being locked into a single provider.
Details of the deal
- With the fresh capital, RhymeQ plans to expand its engineering team, develop its enterprise platform and grow its global developer community. The company also intends to partner with quantum hardware providers to integrate their existing software libraries into Rhyme.
- RhymeQ has emerged from stealth at NVIDIA GTC Berlin, where it is presenting its platform during the NVIDIA Inception startup pitch session. The software is built on NVIDIA CUDA-Q, enabling code to run on GPU-accelerated quantum simulators and quantum processors from multiple hardware providers.
- The company is initially offering free access to its compiler and developer community to users on its waitlist, with further invitations planned in the coming weeks.
