Amsterdam-based hospitality tech company Mews has raised $300 million in a Series D funding round led by EQT Growth, with new investors Atomico and HarbourVest Partners and support from existing backers Kinnevik, Battery Ventures, and Tiger Global. The funding values the company at $2.5 billion, making Mews a double unicorn.
- Established in 2012 by Matt Welle and Richard Valtr, Mews is a cloud-based hospitality platform that streamlines operations for hotels, hostels, and serviced apartments worldwide. It integrates property management, bookings, payments, point-of-sale, housekeeping, and guest interactions into a single system, enabling businesses to automate tasks, manage multiple properties, and optimize revenue.
- In 2025, Mews secured $75 million in funding led by Tiger Global to accelerate growth in the US and DACH regions. The platform supported 15,000 customers across 85 countries, handled 42.3 million guest check-ins, processed $19.7 billion in transactions, and generated over $537 million in additional revenue for hoteliers through features like Mews Spaces. Its SaaS gross profit grew 55% year-on-year, reflecting strong adoption and operational efficiency.
- Mews also integrates seamlessly with third-party software, leveraging AI-driven tools to simplify workflows, speed up staff onboarding, and provide advanced insights into guest behavior, positioning it as a central hub for modern hospitality operations.
“We are engineering an operating system that is changing how hoteliers interact with their guests. Mews exists to handle the operational complexity so hoteliers can focus on what matters: making hospitality even more fun, profitable, and fulfilling," explains Matt Welle, CEO of Mews.
Details of the deal
- The company will use the fresh funding to accelerate investment in AI and agent-driven automation across its platform, expand Mews Payments and fintech infrastructure, and support continued international growth across North America, Europe, and new markets.
“I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know the Mews team for several years and witness the company go from a bold vision to an organization delivering at scale. Hospitality is one of the world’s largest industries, yet its core systems remain decades behind. Mews is creating a modern technology standard, an AI-enabled hospitality operating system that helps solve the fragmentation we see in the industry. We at EQT Growth are incredibly excited to lead this round and partner with Mews," claims Kirk Lepke, Partner at EQT Growth.
