Enact raises $30M to develop force-and-touch technology for robots

Swiss robotics startup Enact Intelligence has emerged from stealth with a $30 million pre-seed round to develop technology that enables robots to handle objects with greater precision by sensing force and touch.

  • Founded in 2026 by Manuel Yves Galliker and a team of robotics and AI specialists, Enact is developing an artificial nervous system for robots that allows them to sense forces through their own actuators, without relying on additional sensors or hardware. The technology is designed to help robots learn manipulation tasks more efficiently and operate reliably in real-world environments.
  • Unlike systems that primarily rely on visual input, Enact's approach focuses on force and touch to help robots handle objects and perform tasks that require fine motor control. The company aims to make robotic automation more practical in industrial settings where tasks involve varied objects and conditions.

Details of the deal

  • The round was backed by Redalpine, Notion Capital and Firstminute Capital, alongside angel investors including Yann LeCun, Arthur Mensch, CEO of Mistral AI, and Thomas Wolf, co-founder of Hugging Face.
  • With the fresh capital, Enact plans to expand its team and accelerate hardware development and research and development (R&D), advancing its technology for deployment across different robotic platforms.
