Warsaw-based GRAI, which develops AI tools for interactive music remixing and social audio experiences, has raised $9 million in seed funding led by Khosla Ventures and co-led by Inovo VC.
- Founded in 2024 by Ilya Liasun, Dima Kamarouski, and Andrei Avsievich, GRAI builds AI-based tools that enable users to interact with existing music through remixing and modification rather than generating new songs.
- Its system uses a proprietary audio infrastructure and “derivatives pipeline” that allows real-time transformations while retaining the core structure and identity of original recordings.
- The company is testing these technologies through mobile applications that focus on social listening and collaborative engagement with tracks. It also works on an opt-in framework intended to let artists and rights holders control how their music can be used, with the possibility of deriving new revenue from user-created variations.

- The round also saw participation from a16z Scout Fund, Tensor Ventures, Tiny VC, Flyer One Ventures, and several angel investors.
"Really excited to back the team as they build something new and ambitious, a new layer in how we experience music. Thank you for your trust Ilya, Andrei and Dima and being part of your journey," Partner at Inovo VC, Karol Lasota, commented on LinkedIn.
- GRAI’s goal is to make music more interactive and social by using AI to let people remix, transform, and share songs, while giving artists control and potential new royalty streams instead of replacing them with AI-generated music.
