Czech’s Edmund raises €2.5M to bring AI-powered industrial troubleshooting to Europe and the US

Prague-based company Edmund, which develops an AI-powered platform for industrial maintenance, has raised €2.5 million in funding, led by FORWARD.one with participation from University2Ventures and Tensor Ventures, as Vestbee was informed.

  • Founded in 2023 by Jakub Szlaur, Benjamin Przeczek, and Miroslav Marek, Edmund develops an AI-driven troubleshooting platform for industrial production lines.
  • The system integrates multiple sources of factory data, including electrical schematics, PLC software, maintenance logs, technical documentation, and live IoT telemetry, into a single searchable framework. By linking component schematics to their function blocks and historical maintenance records, the platform can identify the root cause of faults in minutes rather than hours, reducing diagnostic time.
  • Edmund has connected over 130 machines across multiple factories, cutting average downtime by 26% and saving approximately 441 technician hours per year per facility. Each factory using the system achieves estimated annual savings of €190,000.
  • The platform is hardware-agnostic and operates across various industrial systems. Technicians can access contextualized machine knowledge, step-by-step repair guidance, and automated maintenance routines. By centralizing operational know-how, Edmund helps retain expertise, accelerate fault resolution, and prevent recurring issues without requiring extensive technical training.

Details of the deal

  • The investment will enable Edmund to expand into Europe and the US, hire more staff, and improve its AI-powered troubleshooting platform, helping manufacturers reduce downtime and retain critical operational knowledge more efficiently.

"We are thrilled to back Edmund AI alongside our friends at FORWARD.one. Edmund is turning the factory floor into an intelligent, self-diagnosing system that gives manufacturers real-time answers instead of costly downtime. Our corporate network spans exactly the industrial players Edmund needs to accelerate its expansion, and we look forward to helping Edmund expand across Europe," explains Dr. Johannes Triebs,
Founding Partner at U2V.
