Lyon's fintech startup Wavo raises €3.5M to access stock financing for SMEs

Lyon-based fintech startup Wavo, which provides zero-debt inventory financing for fast-growing SMEs, has raised €3.5 million from Clint Capital, Kima Ventures, and HUB612.

  • Founded in 2024 by Julien Decherf Mathiolon, Adrien Plat, Maxence Gilliot, Pierre-Antoine Duchâteau, and Tanguy Clerget, Wavo provides zero-debt inventory financing for SMEs, helping them unlock cash flow and scale without financial constraints.
  • Unlike traditional loans, Wavo purchases a company’s inventory upfront, covering the full cost, including VAT. Businesses retain physical possession of their stock while connecting their inventory system to Wavo’s platform for real-time tracking. SMEs repay flexibly as they sell, with no fixed deadlines or impact on their debt capacity.
  • In just four months, Wavo has financed over €2 million in inventory, representing a total value of €10 million. Serving industries from mobility to energy and professional equipment

Details of the deal

  • The funding round was backed by Clint Capital, a Paris-based VC firm, Kima Ventures, a leading French venture capital firm, HUB612 Participations (Caisse d’Epargne Rhône Alpes), Tony Parker, and other angel investors.
  • The funds raised will be used to enhance Wavo's scoring capabilities and expand its financing capacity, allowing the startup to offer higher limits, up to €500,000, and cover a wider range of products.
  • Additionally, the investment will improve the user experience by making the process smoother and more intuitive, offering clients better tools and support to manage their inventory and optimize cash flow.

"This investment will allow us to enhance our scoring capabilities and expand our financing capacity, making it easier than ever for businesses to access a simple, flexible, and debt-free alternative," co-founder at Wavo, Adrien Plat, commented.
