New VC Funds

  • Multicoin Capital wraps up its third $430M crypto fund. The firm will invest across all stages of the company lifecycle and put $500k to $25M into early-stage projects while reserving up to $100M-large tickets for later-stage projects.
  • London-based Vektor Partners launches €125M fund to back mobility startups. The firm will focus on early-stage companies from Europe and the US.
  • AM Ventures rolls out a €100M vehicle to invest in innovation across industrial 3D printing. The fund will invest €500k to €3M in seed to growth stage companies all over the globe.
  • A debut crypto fund Protagonist closes its first $100M fund and incubator to back early-stage startups. The firm will invest all over the crypto space but focus on gaming, infrastructure, emerging blockchains/ecosystems and security/privacy-related projects.
  • London-based climate tech VC Systemiq hits the first $70M closing of its $200M fund. The firm will focus on innovation around regenerative land use, oceans, transportation and the circular economy.

CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions

  • Croatian-founded tax automation startup Fonoa closes its $60M series B round to expand globally. The round was led by Coatue and followed by Dawn Capial, Index Ventures, OMERS Ventures, FJ Labs and Moving Capital.
  • Czech software observability platform Better Stack picks up a $18.6M series A to develop its product and fund its market expansion. The round was led by Creandum and joined by Susa Ventures, K5 Global, Credo Ventures and handful of high-profile angel investors like Flexport’s founder Ryan Peterson, founders of Aiven Oskari Saarenmaa and Hannu Valtonen, the founder of Docplanner Lucek Samulowski, and others.
  • Estonian solar roof startup Solarstone takes home a €10M investment to fund its further growth. The investment was made by Biofuel OÜ.
  • Smoke and wildfire detection startup SmokeD raises 10M PLN to further develop the product and scale up the company's growth. The round was led by EEC Magenta.
  • Ecommerce marketing agency Pirk spark joins forces with the ecommerce management startup Samito. The agency had purchased 20% of the startup for an undisclosed amount.
  • AI-based voice assistant startup Talkie raises its first $800k round for further growth. The rounds was co-led by Movens Capial and LT Capital.
  • Czech sustainable materials startup myco raises 14M Kč round to increase its production capacity. The investment was made by Garage Angels and JIC’s venture unit.
  • Estonian work gamification platform Yera picks up a €535k seed round to further its global expansion. The round was led by Veriff’s founder Kaarel Kotkas, Wise’s former engineering director Alvar Lumberg and a number of business angels.
  • Belarusian manual data entry automation startup Bitskout raises €500k pre-seed round to further develop the product and add new tech integrations. The round was co-financed by SMOK Ventures, Octopus Ventures and Shilling VC.
  • Ukrainian tap-to-pay startup TRANSENIX closes a $500k round. The investment was made by a fintech VC N1.

Startup Calls

  • My Company Polska, AWS and Vestbee seek the most promising Polish startups for its Rookie of the Year awards. The winners will be able to get up to a 100k PLN in AWS credits and media coverage from the organizers. To be eligible for participation your company should be in a post-validation stage, founded after the year 2017 and have an initial funding. To apply for the awards you can go to this link
  • EIT Manufacturing continues gathering applications for its BoostUp! 2022 program. The program is open to startups who had a chance of validating their product through a pilot or PoC with a large corporation. The winners will obtain €20k-lage cash prize and a chance of connecting with investors, corporates and industry experts. The applications are open till the 31st of July.
  • Danish pharma company Novo Nordisk continues accepting applications for its obesity-centered accelerator program. The program is open to Polish startups building innovative products and/or solutions helping decrease or otherwise improve lives of people living with the condition. The call for applications will last until the end of July.
