Italy's legaltech startup Lexroom.ai raises €16M Series A led by Base10 Partners

Milan-based legaltech firm Lexroom.ai has raised €16 million in a Series A funding round to accelerate international expansion, led by Base10 Partners with support from existing and new investors.

  • Founded in 2023 by Paolo Fois, Martina Domenicali, and Andrea Lonza, Lexroom.ai is an AI-powered platform that streamlines legal research, document analysis, and drafting.
  • The platform allows lawyers and corporate legal teams to ask questions in natural language and quickly receive high-quality drafts, summaries, and relevant legal sources. Lexroom.ai supports Civil, Commercial, Privacy, Banking, and Labour Law, with the ability to compare documents, extract clauses, and generate customized legal texts.
  • By automating repetitive tasks, it helps legal professionals save an average of 73% of their time, with over 600 clients currently using the platform. Draft opinions can be produced in as little as 60 seconds, and the system integrates directly into daily workflows to support efficient, accurate, and secure legal operations.
  • In March of this year, the firm secured €2 million in seed funding, led by Entourage, to boost its AI capabilities, grow its customer base, and strengthen its presence in Southern Europe.

Details of the deal

  • Lexroom’s Series A round was led by Silicon Valley VC Base10 Partners and included participation from Spanish VC Acurio Ventures, View Different, Riccardo Zacconi, and other strategic angel investors.

“Lexroom is transforming one of the largest and most tradition-bound industries with a product that lawyers actually love using. Paolo, Martina, and Andrea bring an impressive mix of deep legal expertise and product vision, and in just a short time have shown how AI can meaningfully change the way legal work gets done," claims Rexhi Dollaku, General Partner at Base10 Partners.

  • Existing investors such as Entourage, Verve Ventures, and Joe Zadeh, also joined the round.
  • With the fresh funding, the firm will accelerate international expansion, starting with Spain and Germany, grow its team and enhance its AI platform for legal research, drafting, and advisory services, with a focus on jurisdiction-specific accuracy.
  • Additionally, the startup will invest in customer acquisition, marketing, and operational infrastructure to sustain rapid growth, while leveraging strategic advisors and partners to strengthen its presence in the European legal tech market.
