New VC Funds
- A completely new €250M-big Plural announces a close of its first fund. The firm will back Europe’s early-stage startups with tickets ranging from €1M and €10M.
- NATO announces a €1Bn innovation fund to back dual-purpose technology bolstering the alliance’s military capabilities. The fund will mostly back early-stage startups and VCs focused on a select range of verticals.
- Yet another debut fund from a founder of Angel Labs that is going to be both fund-of-funds and a startup investor. The VC will back pre-seed and seed companies across the US/Europe and largely focus on automation and process innovation.
- A Bulgarian growth-equity firm Blackpeak Capital raises a new €126M fund. The firm will focus on growth-stage SMEs from SEE across IT , niche manufacturing, healthcare, business services, and consumer sectors.
- The creator-founded and backed Creator Ventures closes its first $20M fund. The firm will mostly focus on seed stage consumer startups across the globe.
CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions
- Czech fintech for the logistics industry 4Trans raises a combined €18M in growth and debt funding to further strengthen its local position and later expand into Poland. The company was backed by Atmos Ventures, Tera Ventures, Lighthouse Ventures, Advance Global Capital and Impact Investment fund.
- One of the most known translation management platforms Memsource raises €15M round to accelerate global expansion. The investment was made by Carlyle and previous investors into the company.
- Payment processing startup GoCardless buys out Latvian open-banking platform Nordigen to complement its core offerings. The size of the transaction remains undisclosed.
- Polish contract management platform Pergamin picks up $1.2M seed round to further develop its product. The round was led by Sunfish Partners, DFRI, and Funding Box. negotiates $1.2 million to handle even more complexity
- Polish alternative proteins startup PROTEINrise raises 4M PLN to start producing and distributing their products. The rounds were secured through CofounderZone.
- Virtual restaurant network Rebel Tang gets 2M PLN in funding for the company’s ongoing market expansion. The investment was made by Freya Capital and Moliera2.
- Czech drone traffic management/safety startup Dronetag picks 15M Kč in funding to grow the customer base and streamline the product capabilities. The round was led by Y Soft’s venture arm.
- Startup for interactive document experience Storied Data raises a €500k pre-seed round. The investment was made by Impetus Capital.

- AR/VR onboarding/training startup WeBoard raises 10M Kč for further product development. The round was led by nation1.
- Local marketing platform PromoRepublic raises €200k pre-series A round to scale up its offerings. The round was raised from NetSolid Investments, Flyer One Ventures, Innovestor, Diligent Capital, and a number of business angels.
Startup Calls
- EIT Manufacturing calls for applications for this year’s pan-European “BoostUp!” competition. The competition will award €20k to 8 winners and €5k for two special nominations. The applications are open for those who’d had a pilot project with a corporate and the call for applications will last until the 31st of July.
- Polish Chmura Krajowa partners up with Google Cloud in launching a startup program Let’s get (c)loud. The program is open to tech startups in the early stage and will help with business/technical mentoring as well as free (up to $100k) Google Cloud credits.
