Grenoble-based deep-tech firm Scintil Photonics, which develops integrated photonic chips for AI data centers, has raised $58 million in a Series B funding round led by Yotta Capital Partners and NGP Capital.
- Scintil Photonics was founded in 2018 by Sylvie Menezo in Grenoble, France. The company develops silicon photonic integrated circuits with built-in lasers for data center and AI infrastructure. Its core technology, known as SHIP™ (Scintil Heterogeneous Integration Photonics), integrates components such as lasers, modulators, and photodiodes onto a single chip using commercial silicon photonics foundries.
- This approach reduces the number of discrete parts needed for optical interconnects. Scintil’s main product, LEAF Light™, is a single-chip dense multi-wavelength laser source designed to supply the optical carriers required for co-packaged optics and GPU cluster networking, offering higher speed and lower power use than copper interconnects.
- The firm operates as a fabless semiconductor company with teams in France, Canada, and the US.

- Scintil Photonics’ $58 million Series B round was led by Yotta Capital Partners and NGP Capital, with participation from NVIDIA, BNP Paribas Développement, and continued support from Supernova Invest, Bpifrance Digital Venture, Innovacom, Bosch Ventures, and Applied Ventures/AVITIC.

- The fresh funding will enable the firm to expand hiring in France and the US, accelerate production, ramp up high-volume delivery of its LEAF Light™ single-chip DWDM light engine, and strengthen its international presence to support next-generation AI data centers and GPU clusters.
