Bergen-based collaboration platform Rubus, tailored for real estate developers, building contractors, and home buyers, has raised €2 million in funding and acquired Bau Digital to expand into the German market. The fresh capital was provided by Kistefos AS and Construct Venture.
- Rubus was founded in 2019 by Guy and Yuval Montuelle. The company has developed a platform aimed at simplifying multi-housing construction projects. It is designed for property developers, contractors, suppliers, and home buyers, focusing on streamlining communication and documentation throughout the construction process.
- The platform centralizes tasks such as managing buyer customizations, handling inspections and handovers, and addressing complaints and maintenance requests during the warranty period. By doing so, it helps reduce errors, lower costs, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
- Operating in Bergen, Oslo, and Stockholm, Rubus has a team of 21 people. The company reports that it has supported over 500 projects and served more than 20,000 users across 1,700 companies. The platform has facilitated 1 million NOK in upgrades, sent 1 million messages, and processed 400,000 document uploads.

Details of the deal
- Rubus has raised funds to support the acquisition from Oslo-based VC Kistefos AS, and Construct Venture, a Norwegian investment firm owned by OBOS and AF Gruppen, which focuses on early-stage and growth companies in the construction, real estate, and property technology sectors.
- The acquisition of Bau Digital by Rubus merges Bau Digital’s expertise in the DACH region with Rubus’ presence in Scandinavia, enhancing the platform with improved product handling, visualization, and customization for homebuyers. New features such as customer surveys, digital agreement signing, and an inspection app are planned for 2025.
