Norwegian startup Pistachio raises $7M to expand its cybersecurity awareness training platform

Norwegian startup Pistachio has raised $7 million in a Series A round to expand its cybersecurity awareness training platform. The funding round was led by Walter Ventures, with support from Idékapital and Angel Invest.

  • Established in 2019, Pistachio, formerly known as CYBR, was founded by Joe Jones, alongside co-founders Mohammed Awais Aziz and Jaan Kitchuk.
  • The company offers a cybersecurity awareness training platform that helps organizations protect against evolving threats.
  • Pistachio’s modules focus on real-world scenarios, training employees to recognize and respond to risks like phishing and social engineering.
  • With automated, personalized training, the platform requires no manual oversight, keeping teams up-to-date on the latest threats. Integration with tools like Microsoft Entra ID simplifies setup, while phishing simulations and scenario-based questions ensure training is relevant to each employee’s role.
  • To date, the firm has a physical presence in 16 countries and has expanded its user base to 99 countries. Additionally, Pistachio supports over 600 companies, including notable organizations such as Scotland’s University of St Andrews and The Riskpoint Group.
