French SportTech startup Ochy raises €1.7M in pre-seed funding

Rennes-based SportTech startup Ochy, which develops an AI-running gait platform, has raised €1.7 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Redstone's Social Impact Fund. Additionally, the firm has announced its integration within the Adidas adiClub Program, as Vestbee was told.

  • Founded in 2021 by Khaldon Evans, Perrine Chapot, and Victor Dequidt, Ochy offers an AI-powered platform that analyzes running gait in real time using just a smartphone camera—no wearables or motion capture needed.
  •  The platform tracks key metrics like stride length and joint angles from a 10-second running video, providing a personalized analysis and a tailored exercise plan to enhance efficiency, reduce injury risk, and improve performance.
  • Ochy has partnered with top athletic organizations, including the French Athletics Federation, and is now integrated into the Adidas adiClub program, where members can redeem points for access. This collaboration helps adiClub members enhance their running performance and reduce injury risk with Ochy's advanced biomechanics analysis.

“At adiClub, we are committed to empowering our members to perform at their best. We’re excited to partner with Ochy to offer our members exclusive access to their cutting-edge biomechanics analysis, ”claims Javier Arias, Global Director of Membership Partnerships at Adidas.

Details of the deal

  • The round was led by Berlin-based VC Redstone through its Social Impact Fund, with participation from Look AI Ventures, a Prague-based investment firm that supports EU-based early-stage AI startups, BPI France, Berkeley SkyDeck, and corporate investors including Agile Physical Therapy.
  • The startup plans to use the €1.7 million from its pre-seed round to enhance its AI technology, expand globally, and strengthen community initiatives, improving its platform for athletes, coaches, physiotherapists, and running stores worldwide.

“With our innovative AI solution, a partnership with an iconic global brand like adidas, and the support of forward-thinking investors, we are laying a foundation to help runners achieve their goals and reduce injuries by equipping them—as well as coaches, physios, and running stores—with AI running form analysis technology," co-founder and CEO of Ochy, Khaldon Evans, stated in a press release.
