Berlin-based Meisterwerk, which develops a platform for craft businesses, has secured €6 million in a Series A funding round led by Semapa Next.
- Founded in 2018 by Bertram Wildenauer and Nick Sonnenberg, Meisterwerk develops an app designed to enhance coordination between office and frontline workers. The app facilitates more effective management of jobs, processes, appointments, and teams.
- The app serves more than 5,000 tradesmen and 600 craft businesses in the DACH region, offering features such as scheduling, dispatching, appointment management, mobile time tracking, payroll, digital forms, information exchange, custom workflows, and integrations with accounting software.
Details of the deal
- The fresh funding was led by Semapa Next, a Lisbon-based venture capital firm that invests in European companies with global ambitions, focusing on the Series A stage. To date, the firm’s portfolio includes 28 startups and 4 exits, featuring companies such as Apres, Verbz, and Secret City Trails.

- The funding round also saw participation from New York-based VC I2BF Global Ventures, Nexxus Capital Management, Wecken & Cie. - Care4 AG, Vienna-based Speedinvest, seed + speed Ventures, Krakow-based Innovation Nest, and Marcus Krüger Syndicate.
- The capital raised will enable Meisterwerk to address the challenges facing craft businesses more effectively. Additionally, the startup will offer customized finance solutions and advanced AI automation, aiming to improve financial management, drive business growth, and set new standards for efficiency and profitability.
