London-based startup Keel, which offers a no-code platform for operations teams to easily create custom software solutions, has secured $6 million in funding from Earlybird Venture Capital and LocalGlobe. The seed round will enable the startup to bridge the gap between no-code solutions and ERP software.
- Founded in 2022 by Benoit Machefer, Jon Bretman, and Tom Frew, Keel provides a no-code platform that empowers operations teams to quickly build custom software solutions, enhancing efficiency without needing a dedicated engineering team.
- The platform has gained traction in physical operations, such as inventory management, shift scheduling, and driver payroll. It allows customers to tackle one issue at a time while integrating seamlessly with existing third-party software, distinguishing it from traditional all-in-one ERP solutions.
- With its robust backend engine, API-first design, and auto-generated admin tools, Keel is user-friendly for both technical operators and developers. The open-source framework facilitates quick onboarding and ongoing support, enabling businesses to customize solutions to meet their specific operational needs.
Details of the deal
- The seed round came from Earlybird Venture Capital, a Berlin-based venture capital firm that invests in early-stage tech startups across Europe, and LocalGlobe, a London-based VC.
“In order to disrupt this market with a more operationally-minded product, you need a team who built and scaled ops-centric organizations themselves, which we found in Benoit, Tom, and Jon. We are proud to have backed them since day 1," Partner at Earlybird Venture Capital, Dr. Andre Retterath, commented.
- Keel will use the $6 million seed funding to enhance its no-code platform, improve user experience, and add new features. The funds will also help grow the team and expand its customer base, offering more businesses a flexible alternative to traditional ERP systems.
