Stockholm-based startup Hypertype secures €600k led by Butterfly Ventures

Stockholm-based startup Hypertype, which is redefining the future of search communications, has secured €600,000, led by Butterfly Ventures, with participation from Bust and business angels. This investment will help Hypertype further expand its customer base in the Nordics.

  • Founded in 2021 by Teenie Fung and Beatrice Baltscheffsky, Hypertype develops AI-based software that automates customer support and sales communication by providing quick access to company-specific information, addressing the time-consuming nature of finding the right information for high-quality responses.
  • Hypertype employs a team of 6 and serves around 200 firms, including Alessio Coffee, Mynt, Yazen.se, AppCrazee, Techlove, and Plaace. 

Details of the deal

  • The fresh capital was led by Butterfly Ventures, a Helsinki-based venture capital firm that funds pre-seed and seed-stage tech startups in the Nordics and Baltics. With offices in Helsinki, Oulu, Stockholm, Tallinn, and Copenhagen, Butterfly Ventures' portfolio includes 50 startups and 123 investments, with 32 exits in companies such as Profilence, Fourdeg, Realsource, and Chain Antimicrobials.
  • The funding round included participation from Stockholm-based VC Bust, BLING, a Swedish venture capital firm with investments in approximately 400 startups, and previous investors like Luminar Ventures and Fredrik Olsson. Business angels Margaux Dietz and Baltsar Sahlin, CEO and founder of Mynt, a Swedish fintech company that is a customer of Hypertype, also contributed to the round.

"We have implemented Hypertype for our customer support, and it helps us become more efficient as we can handle cases faster without compromising quality. There is great potential in both the product and the team. It feels exciting to be part of and contribute to this journey," CEO and founder of Mynt, Baltsar Sahlin, stated.

  • With the investment, Hypertype plans to grow its customer base in the Nordics and later in the USA, as well as further develop its AI service that facilitates customer communication.
