German climate tech startup Forward Earth, which develops AI-powered environmental management software, has raised €4.5 million in a seed funding round to grow its presence in the US and expand its operations into Asia. The round was led by Mosaic Ventures, with support from Speedinvest and Revent.
- Forward Earth was founded in 2023 by Micha Schildmann, Cari Davidson, and Giuseppe Gentile. The startup develops AI-powered software that automates environmental management for businesses. Their innovative tool seamlessly integrates with existing systems to streamline compliance, risk, and supply chain management, ensuring adherence to both EU and US regulations.
- The startup's main product helps companies navigate an expanding array of stringent environmental standards while reducing their carbon footprint and achieving sustainability goals. It provides access to advanced solutions for managing corporate and product carbon footprints, CBAM, and other key environmental performance indicators (KPIs).
- In June, Forward Earth secured €3.2 million in funding, led by Speedinvest, to enhance its technology and expand its presence across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Details of the deal
- The seed round was led by Mosaic Ventures, a London-based venture capital firm that supports European founders with size tickets ranging between $1 million and $10 million.
“We’re thrilled to join forward earth on their mission to decarbonize global supply chains. Humans alone cannot solve this problem at the required scale – and Micha, Cari and Giuseppe are the first team to bring a truly AI-first approach to market," claims Chandar Lal from Mosaic Ventures.
- Vienna-based venture capital firm Speedinvest, which manages over €1 billion in assets, and Berlin-based VC Revent also participated in the round.
- Forward earth plans to grow its team, scale operations, establish a presence in the U.S. market, and prepare for future expansion into Asia.
"Mosaic Ventures is the ideal partner to bolster our European presence and accelerate our expansion into the U.S., leveraging their extensive network on both sides of the Atlantic. With this additional funding, we're poised to rapidly decarbonize global supply chains and drive environmental compliance," CEO and founder of forward earth, Micha Schildmann, commented.
