German insurance platform Feather has raised €6 million in Series A funding from Keen Ventures Partners and existing investors. The round will enable Feather to further assist expats around Europe in obtaining tailored insurance depending on their needs.
- Established in 2018 by Rob Schumacher and Vincent Audoire, Feather is an insurtech startup specializing in tailored insurance solutions for expats across Europe. Currently, Feather operates in Germany, Spain, and France, with plans to expand into three additional countries by the end of 2024.
- Feather aims to simplify the insurance process based on individual needs with a user-friendly approach that includes a digital claims process and transparent customer service, ensuring clarity and ease in navigating insurance options. Expats can confidently manage their insurance needs, supported by personalized recommendations that align with their unique lifestyles.

- The investment came from Keen Ventures Partners, an Amsterdam-based venture capital firm that backs startups across Europe.
- Existing investors, including Plural, an early-stage investment fund that raised €400 million for its second fund in 2023, along with London-based VC Entrepreneur First, joined the round to support Feather.
- With the new funding, Feather aims to improve its platform for a better user experience, including clear policies, impartial advice, and easy online claims, all available in English. Additionally, the startup also plans to expand its services to include insurance options for companies hiring many expats.
