French pet insurance startup Dalma secures €20M Series B led by BREEGA

French pet insurance startup Dalma has developed an app for quick pet insurance and vet advice. It has secured €20 million in a Series B funding round, bringing its total funding to over €50 million. The fresh capital will help the startup expand into new European markets.

  • Founded in 2021 by Alban de Préville, Raphaël Sadaka, and Harry Belinga, Dalma develops an app that streamlines the insurance claim process and provides unlimited access to veterinary advice.
  • The app enables pet owners to get quotes, submit claims, and receive reimbursements within under 48 hours, often within 30 seconds. Additionally, it offers convenient access to 24/7 veterinary consultations via video calls and messaging.

Details of the deal

  • The funding round was led by BREEGA, a Paris-based venture capital firm managing €700 million in assets, with main offices in London and Paris. BREEGA supports digital, climate, and deep tech ventures from pre-seed to Series A+ across Europe and Africa.
  • The investment also saw participation from London-based VC Northzone, Amsterdam-based VC Anterra Capital, and Bpifrance Digital Venture.
  • Dalma will use the €20 million in Series B funding to expand into new European markets, improve its AI-driven claims system, and introduce new services to support pet parents better.

"But beyond the numbers, this is about changing the way we care for our pets, and building the ultimate pet well-being ecosystem," co-founder at Dalma, Raphaël Sadaka, stated.
