Paris-based deeptech startup Comand AI focused on AI solutions for defence and security, has raised €8.5 million in seed funding led by Eurazeo to grow its team and scale operations.
- Founded in 2023 by Loïc Mougeolle, Comand AI develops AI-powered tools for command and control in defence operations. Its software addresses the challenges of decision-making and operational management in complex scenarios.
- The company's main product, Prevail, supports command center officers in planning maneuvers under time and resource constraints. It also analyzes past operations, extracting insights and distributing them to units to improve future performance.
“We are entering a new era in military operations. AI is a technology with no historical precedent and can be used to transform the command of human-machine teams. Our platform equips officers with advanced tactical capabilities, laying the groundwork for a new standard of superiority,” Explains Loïc Mougeolle, founder of Comand AI.
Details of the deal
- The round was led by Eurazeo, a European investment group managing €35.5 billion in assets and supporting over 600 mid-market companies worldwide with sector expertise and a focus on sustainable growth.
“This funding round positions Comand AI as a future AI-driven leader in the defence sector, marking a crucial step toward strengthening European sovereignty,” Investment Director at Eurazeo, Thomas Turelier, commented.
- The investment also included participation from Frst, a Paris-based firm managing over €200 million in assets, and Expeditions Fund, a Warsaw-based investment firm specializing in early-stage investments.
- The startup will use the €8.5 million funding to expand its team, accelerate software development, and enhance Europe’s defence capabilities, focusing on France and allied countries.
