Warsaw-based edtech startup Coding Giants, a school focused on new technologies for children and teenagers, has raised €8.5 million in funding to accelerate its expansion in Spain and Italy. The funding round was led by True Global Ventures, with support from PortfoLion Capital Partners.
- Founded in 2017 by Dawid Leśniakiewicz, Radosław Kulesza, Piotr Pełka, and Sebastian Langa, Coding Giants offers coding courses for children and teenagers, teaching them to create digital projects like computer games, mobile apps, websites, and 3D graphics.
- The platform offers repeat materials, access to a support group on Discord for students aged 6 to 19, and guidance from qualified tech professionals.
- Coding Giants operates in 13 countries, offering 77 different courses and serving 200,000 students worldwide. The startup claims that 98% of its students are satisfied with the courses.
Details of the deal
- The funding round was led by True Global Ventures, a Singapore-based equity fund focused on late-stage blockchain companies in gaming, infrastructure, data analytics, and financial services.
- The round was also supported by PortfoLion Capital Partners, a Budapest-based venture capital firm and the private equity arm of OTP Bank, managing €440 million in assets and backing startups across various sectors in the CEE region.
- The startup plans to use the €8.5M funding to accelerate its growth in Spain and Italy, as well as expand into new markets, including LATAM, the Spanish-speaking US population, and Germany.
