Bisly, the Estonian startup bringing AI-powered building automation to residential and commercial infrastructure, has raised €4.3 million to accelerate its expansion across Central and Western Europe.
- Founded in Tallinn, Bisly develops a platform that integrates AI, digital twin technology, and a scalable hardware-software stack that enables buildings to cut energy usage by up to 40% compared to unmanaged equivalents.
“The climate crisis hasn’t paused – 2024 was yet again, the hottest year on record. At a time of geopolitical and economic turbulence, we need practical solutions that work and have been deployed successfully in the field,” said Ants Vill, co-founder and CEO of Bisly.
- Around 40% of the EU’s energy is consumed by buildings, yet roughly 75% of these buildings remain energy inefficient, according to the startup's team. Bisly is addressing this with a cloud-based system that automates and optimizes energy use and indoor climate in real time, while slashing implementation costs by up to 50% versus legacy systems. The platform is compatible with third-party devices, avoiding vendor lock-in and making it viable at scale.
- In 2024, Bisly’s revenue tripled and is on track to triple again in 2025, driven by surging demand from both new builds and retrofits. Its automation systems are now deployed in residential and commercial buildings across Estonia, Germany, and the UK. Key customers and partners include Endover, Liven, Bonava, Pro Kapital, Crown Estate, Hansab, and One-Gruppe.
- The recent round was led by 2C Ventures, with participation from existing backers including Aconterra, Pinorena, the founders of Foxway, and SmartCap, Estonia’s state-backed VC whose Green Fund is supported by the EU’s NextGenerationEU initiative.
- The new funding will be used to expand Bisly’s on-the-ground operations, including the opening of a new office in Poland. The company already has offices in Tallinn, London, and Berlin, and is scaling its engineering team to launch a wireless product line for retrofitting older buildings.
"Buildings account for nearly 40% of global CO₂ emissions, and yet much of the sector remains underserved by digital innovation. Scalable, smart energy management is critical to reducing this footprint, and Bisly’s platform brings that much-needed intelligence and efficiency to the built environment,” stated Martin Koppel, Partner at 2C Ventures.
