ArtMaster, a Czech startup specializing in music education, has closed an over €800,000 funding round, as Vestbee was informed. Purple Ventures led the funding, with participation from Gi21.
- ArtMaster was founded in 2018 by Radim Vysoký and Michal Novak. Its core product is Artie, an AI app that provides personalized piano lessons. The app can also consider the learner's level, favourite genres and bands, communication style, and the demands it places on the user.
- In addition to digital projects, the company also runs a traditional music school in Prague and offers a wide range of pre-recorded video courses focused on learning to play various musical instruments and other artistic activities such as drawing and dance.
- The Artie app is scheduled to launch this July and will initially be available in English and for the iOS operating system. Other platforms and languages are planned for the following period.
- ArtMaster has raised a total of over €2 million. Previously, it received backing from angel investors, including Robert Kyncl, CEO of global giant Warner Music Group, and Czech composer Jaroslav Beck.
- The fresh funding came from Purple Ventures' Fund II, which was launched last April. It was a leading investor in the recent round. Gi21, a Czech VC/PE investment firm, participated.
"Considering what the guys and their team have accomplished in just two months, I can't wait for the final version, which they plan to launch in the summer. We believe that from an investment point of view it will be a global success," says Jan Davídek, Partner at Purple Ventures.
