Prague-based home improvement platform Adam, which simplifies the process of finding suitable tradesmen for clients, has secured €3 million in a late-seed funding round from Brighteye, as Vestbee was told. The investment will enable Adam to expand its operations outside of Europe and launch new trades.
- Co-founded in 2020 by Roman Sysel and Jakub Dvorak, Adam develops home-service software that helps customers find reliable contractor services online, concentrating mainly on painting and apartment repairs. The platform offers a transparent online calculator, enabling customers to estimate costs and schedule services with professionals, ensuring successful completion.
- Since its inception, Adam's number of projects served has tripled year after year, and it now has over 15,000 completed jobs. The platform operates in 11 European nations, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Greece.
- In 2022, Adam raised €1 million in a seed funding round from Presto Ventures and Markus Villig.
"It's remarkable to follow Adam’s success and the results they’ve achieved since the previous Presto investment, including their expansion into new countries and the launch of renovation and brick-masonry services. We’re certainly proud to be Adam’s first VC investor," Partner at Presto Ventures, Roman Novacek, commented in a statement.
Details of the deal
- The fresh funding was backed by Brighteye Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in European Edtech startups at seed and Series A stages. With offices in Luxembourg, Paris, and London, the firm’s portfolio includes 43 startups, 73 investments, and 9 exits, such as Marmelade, Epic!, and Plato.
“We are excited to support Adam’s mission to modernise a traditional industry that has seen no change for decades. While providing their clients with a hassle-free experience, Adam also facilitates continuous training and professional development for the craftsmen, empowering these professionals to expand their services and improve their competitiveness,” Founding Partner at Brighteye, Ben Wirz, stated in a press release.
- With the capital raised, Adam aims to build a development team to improve the customer experience, expand into non-European regions, and broaden its offerings to new trades.
