Kyiv-based startup Buntar Aerospace, which develops unmanned aerial vehicles and mission-support software, has secured $10.4 million in funding from Axon Enterprise, Norwegian investment consortium Munkene AS, and other private investors.
- Established in 2023 by Bohdan Sas and Ivan Kaunov, Buntar Aerospace develops unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and supporting software for reconnaissance and intelligence operations. The firm’s main product, the Buntar-3, is an electric vertical take-off and landing UAV capable of missions lasting up to four hours.
- Alongside its hardware, Buntar develops the Copilot software system, which assists operators by predicting mission scenarios, calculating flight sequences, coordinating multiple camera feeds, and reducing errors under stressful conditions.
- The combination of the Buntar-3 platform and Copilot software is designed to provide timely intelligence and continuous situational awareness for operators in complex environments.
Details of the deal
- With the fresh capital, the firm plans to expand its ISR platforms and develop the Copilot software system, while advancing its partnership with Axon to improve technology integration and provide operators with earlier intelligence, stronger situational awareness, and faster, more informed decision-making in high-risk environments.
"We build alongside frontline units and understand how important timely intelligence is in real operations. This financing will help us scale systems that give operators better information sooner and help protect lives in the moments that matter most," explains Bohdan Sas, co-founder of Buntar Aerospace.
