Neuraspace lands €15.6M to strengthen AI-enabled space safety and defence operations

Portuguese space technology company Neuraspace has secured €15.6 million in new financing. The round was backed by Lince Capital, Explorer Investments, and Armilar Venture Partners, alongside funding awarded under Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRRP).

  • Founded in 2020 by Chiara Manfletti, Neuraspace develops AI-powered technologies that help satellite operators monitor space environments, prevent collisions, and improve the resilience of space missions.
  • The fresh capital will support the expansion of Neuraspace’s AI platform, accelerate autonomous mission operations, increase its proprietary optical sensing infrastructure, and further develop NeuraspaceDEF, the company’s dual-use offering for government and defence users.
  • Neuraspace’s platform combines data from multiple sources, artificial intelligence, and automation tools to help commercial, institutional, and government operators detect risks, manage satellite missions, and respond to potential threats in orbit.
  • The company currently monitors more than 600 satellites operated by commercial and institutional customers, including Spire Global, GEOSAT, NanoAvionics, Sidus Space, U-Space, and the European Space Agency. Neuraspace has also expanded its presence in the defence sector through contracts with the Portuguese Air Force and NATO, as well as projects supporting European defence customers.

Details of the deal

  • The investment comes as the space environment becomes increasingly congested, with satellite operators facing growing risks from collisions, cyber threats, radio-frequency interference, and other disruptions affecting orbital operations.

“When Neuraspace was founded, our mission was to make space safer. That mission has evolved with the operational reality. Today, protecting satellites means addressing both accidental risks and intentional threats. Safety and security are no longer separate challenges,  they are two sides of the same operational problem,” said Chiara Manfletti, CEO of Neuraspace.
