Notable funding rounds across Europe:

  • UK recycling startup CIRCTEC has raised €150 million, including €75 million from Novo Holdings and A.P. Moller Holding, and a €22.5 million grant from the Government of the Netherlands.
  • Spanish revenue accelerator platform for SaaS companies, Capchase, has secured a €105 million credit facility warehouse led by Deutsche Bank. 
  • Swedish textile recycling startup Syre raises $100 million in a Series A round led by US-headquartered private equity firm TPG Rise Climate.
  • French OneStock, a centralized platform to manage retail end-to-end order fulfillment, has raised a $72 million investment from Summit Partners.
  • London-based hospitality software provider Nory has raised $16 million in Series A funding led by Accel.
  • Danish biotech firm Cellugy has secured €4.9 million in seed funding led by ICIG Ventures and Unconventional Ventures. 
  • Stockholm-based AI-based software testing startup QA.tech has raised €3 million in a seed round led by PROfounders.
  • London-based social shopping app Haz has secured a pre-seed funding round of $1.4 million. The investors include Speedinvest, scouts programs of a16z, Atomico, and Concept Ventures.

CEE startup funding rounds & acquisitions:

  • Polish-founded AI-powered translator DeepL has secured an additional $300 million in investment, led by Index Ventures, bringing its post-money valuation to $2 billion. 
  • Budapest-based Parkl has secured €4 million in a funding round led by Lead Ventures. 
  • Lithuanian UDS, a military technology company, has raised $3.2 million led by Lithuanian VC Coinvest Capital, with participation from private investors. 
  • Prague-based brand management solution Behavio has secured €2.25 million in late-seed funding led by Airbridge Equity Partners.
  • Vienna-based fashion robotics startup Silana has raised €1.5 million in a funding round from SOSV, HAX, OÖ HightechFonds, and Material V.
  • Vilnius-based AI platform for retail, Pixevia, has raised €1.5 million. The round was led by Coinvest Capital. 
  • Polish e-commerce data platform Quantia has secured $1.2 million in a funding round led by Inovo VC and Team X. 
  • Estonian healthcare startup CARÁ Health has raised €620,000 in a funding round led by Tera Ventures, with participation from StartupIst Ventures. 
  • Hungarian AI platform for data generation for autonomous driving development, DiffuseDrivehas secured an undisclosed funding round led by 500 Emerging Europe.

New venture capital funds and VCs’ news:

  • UK climate-focused VC ETF Partners closes fourth fund at €285 million. It will invest tickets of €5-€10 million into digital businesses focused on climate change at seed, Series A and Series B. 
  • Maria Rotilu, former Octopus Ventures and Oxford Seed Fund investor, announced the launch of her venture capital firm OpenseedVC. The fund has already reached its first close, targeting $10 million.
  • UK-based VC firm Haatch has launched an £8 million Institutional Regional Fund. The fund will support startups from Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
  • Frank Reeves has launched a €5 million fund called Voyaria to invest in early-stage hotel tech startups across Ireland and the UK.

Startup calls & Events:

  • Evolutions: Meetup & Showcase

On June 19-20, Evolutions: Meetup & Showcase, organized by Startup Wroclaw and OVHcloud, will be held in Wroclaw. This event will feature workshops by investors and founders, including Maciej Zawadzinski from Hard2Beat, Cezary Reszel from HeadHunti & ex-Booksy, and Maciej Kraus from Movens Capital. Additionally, there will be a conference with prominent speakers and a pitching competition offering cash prizes and €190,000 in vouchers from OVHcloud. Application deadline is June 10th.

  • #PropTech Innovation Challenge

ULI Poland presents the second edition of the ULI Europe PIC Awards, focusing on decarbonization and net-zero emissions in the property sector, responsible for 37% of global CO2 emissions. This year, the awards seek innovative solutions in areas such as retrofitting at scale, operational circularity, stakeholder collaboration through gamification, ESG platforms integration, and the use of sustainable materials.
