New VC Funds
- First Lithuanian VC and accelerator for defence/security innovation, Scale Wolf VC, are created to invest in local dual-use startups. The fundraiser is still going on yet Rokas Tamošiūnas has been revealed to be one of the fund's partners.
CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions
- Telematics services platform Cambridge Mobile Telematics buys out Croatian insurtech Amodo to build up its presence in Europe and expand its product offerings. The size of the transaction remains undisclosed.
- Open hospitality platform Apaleo raises a €9M Series A to strengthen its presence in Germany and expand throughout Europe. The round was co-led by Rockaway Ventures and Serpentine Ventures with participation from Redalpine, and Force Over Mass Capital.
- Hungarian text-to-video platform Colossyan gets $5M in its Series A round to build up its R&D/engineering teams and expand to London and New York. The round was led by LAUNCHub Ventures and joined by Emerge Education, Day One Capital, Oktogon Ventures, and APX.
- Romanian RPA consultancy Aggranda buys out its local competitor RPA Box to strengthen its position and accelerate the development of its proprietary “Link” system. The size of the transaction remains undisclosed.
- Ukrainian cashflow management service Finmap raises €1M to expand in Poland and Turkey. The round was led by SMOK Ventures and was joined by Czech VC Presto Ventures, Capital Genetics, and tbi bank's CEO Petr Baron.
- Serbian last-mile delivery analytics platform Mily Tech obtains €1M pre-seed round. The round was led by South Central Ventures and supported by Katapult Accelerator.
- Romanian digital factoring startup Instant Factoring attracts €600k to expand product offerings and expand to new locations. The round was led by MicroEurope.
- Polish Unfold.vc backs up a $3M round of an American dental care subscription service, Wally Health. The investment will be used to expand the startup's network of dental clinics.
- Estonian biomass-to-power startup Bioreactor announces a pre-seed round to deliver its first pilot installations. The round was co-led by Hiidenkivi Investment Oy and Grid.vc.
- Bulgarian camping van marketplace Karavani.bg gets €61K to expand throughout Bulgaria. The round was financed by an undisclosed list of 10 private investors.
- Accelpoint and PKO Bank Polski selected 15 startups to take part in the next Poland ClimAccelerator. To find out who joined the next batch, you can go to this page.
Startup Calls & Events
- Infoshare and InCredibles invite startups to apply for the pitching contest. The applications are open to seed and early-stage startups with tech4good solutions. Winners of the challenge can get up to €20k in cash prizes, media coverage as well as a place in the InCredibles acceleration program. The registrations are open till the 15th of March.
- Croatian deep tech venture builder Nuqleus invites local teams looking to learn more about various aspects of MVP-building and early-stage venture building. The participants will have a chance of going through a 3-month incubation program and an opportunity to raise venture capital for their product/service. The applications are open till the 12th of March.
- Polish-Ukrainian Startup Bridge invites Ukrainian startups to apply for its pre-acceleration program. The program will award 10k PLN, coworking space, networking, and consultancy opportunities. The applications are open till the 13th of March.
- The sustainability challenge sponsored by SEB Bank, RIMI and EcoBaltia invites university/high school students to test out their ideas in a hackathon. The challenge will provide an opportunity to validate an idea, connections to mentors and specialists from the field of energy/waste management as well as a total prize pool of €6k. The registrations are open till the 15th of March.
- 3W Idea invites startups and researchers/students to submit ideas for health innovations related to water/hydrogen/coal. The best ideas will have a chance of presenting at III Kongres 3W. Applications for the event close on the 9th of March.
