New VC Funds
- Milan-based VC P101 SGR claims the first, €150M close of its new fund, aiming to reach €250M by 2023. The firm will back early to growth stage B2B, B2C companies across fintech, proptech, edutech, cybersecurity, putting anywhere from €1M to €10M into each opportunity.
- Building materials corporation CRH announces the creation of a $250-big CRH Ventures. The firm will invest in construction and climate technology companies operating across the construction value chain.
CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions
- Latvian robotic wind turbine maintenance startup Aerones raises $38.9M series A to scale up its operations. The investors of the company remain undisclosed.
- Czech fairytale narration app Readmio gets Kč 25M investment. The round was led by Zero Gravity Capital and joined by Depo Ventures.
- Post-quantum encryption startup ResQuant raises an undisclosed round for further product development. The round was led by Invento VC.
- Hand tremor device company Vilimed raises a €300K round to expand the business. The round was led by CoInvest Capital and followed by a number of angels from LitBAN.
- Non-invasive health diagnostics platform NutriBox raises 1,17M PLN for product development. The round was led by Scanderia Ventures.
- Carbon management platform Redigo Carbon receives a 1.2M PLN investment to further develop the product. The round was led by Invento VC.
- Walking app Walk15 obtains a €600K investment to further develop the platform and enter the German market. The round was led by EIT Urban Mobility.
Startup Calls
- European Space Agency announces the creation of another business incubator in Lithuania. Those accepted into the program will get access to business and technical advice, €50K from the ESA and eligibility to receive an additional €25K from Vilnius City Municipality.
- Polish Centre for Testing and Certification partners up with the US state of Nevada in launching an acceleration program. The program is open to startups no older than 3 years. Registration is open till the 18th of January.
- The EIT Food opens up registrations for the EIT Jumpstarter accelerator. The program is open to sustainable agriculture and food production companies and those accepted into the program will obtain 6 months of the acceleration program, expert advice, and up to €12K in equity-free grants.
