New VC Funds
- Lithuanian firm Practica Capital announces its third, €70M fund to Baltic founders. The firm is interested in the early-stage founders building marketplace, SaaS, and deeptech startups.
- Slovak VC 0100 Ventures aims for a €60M fund to fund CEE founders. The firm will focus on seed to series A startups across sectors and industries.
CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions
- Croatian API platform Treblle receives a $7M-large investment to scale up its foreign expansion. The round was led by the company's previous investors, Nauta Capital.
- Polish chemtech applying olefin metathesis for the production of catalytic transformations Apeiron Synthesis bags 21M PLN to scale up its production capabilities. The round was led by ORLEN VC, joined by Aper Ventures and Adamed.
- Geek Ventures joins the $3.2M round of an American big data platform, Nomad Data. The round was led by Struck Capital and followed by TenOneTen Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, Correlation Ventures, and Flair Ventures.
- A mental health app for cancer patients, Prosoma raises 14M PLN to finish its FDA application and scale its operations across Germany and Poland. The round was co-led by YouNick Mint and Simpact Ventures, and followed-on by its previous investors among RST Ventures for Earth, Pomerangels and a number of business angels.
- Startup building leaf-to-paper technology Releaf Paper receives a €2.5M grant after graduating from an EIC Accelerator competition.
- Grocery delivery startup Freš gets €650K investments to increase its operational capacity and business growth across CEE. The investment was made by SFG Holding, Oktogon Ventures and a number of business angels.
- Retail intelligence platform Footprints raises a €500K round to kickstart its business expansion. The round was raised by Robin Good, and a group of business angels.
- A startup helping add sounds to famous clips and memes, KiKLiko raises $100K pre-seed round. The round was led by Presto Ventures.
Startup Calls
- Polish National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) calls for applications for its fifth edition of AI-focused INFOSTRATEG. The program is open to companies building automatic detection systems for topographical objects. The applications are open from the 24th of February and will last till the 24th of April.
- Startupbootcamp's Renewable Energy & Net Zero Accelerator announces a call for applications. The program will provide mentorship and exposure to venture investors, a €15K cash prize and more. The applications for the programme close on the 29th of December.
- Big data-themed Reach Incubator calls for startups from CEE to spread a little over €1M in grant prizes. The info webinar for the incubator will be held on the 20th of January, while the deadline for applications is set for the 21st of February.
