Prague-based PurposeTech closes its first fund to support startups across the CEE

Prague-based PurposeTech, a venture capital firm that supports Central and Eastern European founders, has closed its oversubscribed first pre-seed venture capital fund aimed at health, sustainability, and education startups across the CEE region, as reported to Vestbee.

  • Founded in 2023 by Zdenek Fred Fous and Impact Hub, PurposeTech is a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage HealthTech, GreenTech, and EdTech startups from Central and Eastern Europe.
  • With a presence in seven countries across the CEE region, PurposeTech has reviewed over 1,100 startups and made its first five investments.

"Our mission is to support this new wave of founders and seize the emerging opportunities in these sectors. We are the only fund in our region with this dedicated focus," Founder and General Partner at PurposeTech, Zdenek Fred Fous, commented in a press release.

  • The pre-seed VC fund aims to support 10 additional startups over the next 12 to 18 months, focusing on founders from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) who are revolutionizing health, sustainability, and education.

"At PurposeTech, we are proud to address the funding gap for essential startups shaping the future of the CEE region, leveraging the strength of the Impact Hub Network, which boasts 40+ locations just in Europe,” claims Gabriela Gandel, PurposeTech Advisory Board member and former CEO of Impact Hub Global.
