Madrid-based VC firm Nzyme closes €160M fund to support B2B startups across Spain

Madrid-based venture capital firm Nzyme, backed by Kibo Ventures, has closed a €160 million fund to invest in established Spanish SMEs, driving growth through consolidation, digital transformation, and international expansion.

  • Established in 2023, Nzyme was co-founded by Fernando Díaz Solís, José Manuel Gasalla, Juan López, and Vicente Vázquez. It is a private equity fund launched by Kibo Ventures with the mission of equipping established businesses with the tools they need to scale.
  • Nzyme invests equity tickets of €10 million to 20 million in established, profitable companies poised to become market leaders, targeting sectors where technology, innovation, and consolidation fuel growth and competitive edge.
  •  The fund supports businesses as they scale from teams of 20–40 employees to organizations exceeding 150 staff, implementing scalable processes, integrated technology, and pursuing international expansion.
  • The new fund has already made its first investments, including a significant entry into healthcare distribution through Kuma Group, as well as multiple investments in professional services companies.
  • The fund received investments from CDTI, via SICC Innvierte, historic Spanish business families, entrepreneurs, several banks, and international family offices with interests in Spain.

“The successful closing of this fund, in a challenging environment, confirms investors’ confidence in the Nzyme team, our strategy, and the potential of Spanish SMEs to transform and grow. We remain committed to generating sustainable value and contributing to the country’s economic development through strategic investments and a close, hands-on approach with the companies," explains Vicente Vázquez, Managing Director at Nzyme.
