Madrid-based Kfund raises a €70M fund to support Southern European founders

Madrid-based venture capital firm Kfund has raised €70 million for its sixth fund called K3. The fund is dedicated to supporting high-impact startups in Southern Europe, with a particular focus on Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

  • Founded in 2016 by Iñaki Arrola Ruiz de la Escalera and Ian Noel, Kfund is a venture capital firm that invests in Southern European startups developing technology-based services and products.
  • Kfund invests across various stages, from pre-seed to Series B, with size tickets ranging from €100,000 to €15 million, and manages assets worth more than €500 million. The newly lauched K3 targets founders leveraging foundational technologies, data strategies, AI, and platform innovations. Its goal is to empower entrepreneurs who are poised to address emerging challenges and opportunities in the market.
  • Since its inception, Kfund has already closed five funds and made approximately 70 investments in various startups, including Digibee, nflux, Quibim, Katoo, Fuell, Trebellar, Voicemod, Exoticca, LGFM, and Fetcher. The firm has also co-invested with venture capital firms such as Atomico, Creandum, Hoxton, Anthemis, and Y Combinator.

“We will put all our experience at the service of K3 to continue driving progress and applying it to the new needs of our society. With the start of K3's fundraising, we begin a new phase to consolidate progress in the earliest stages of the ecosystem and continue the efforts we have been making in seed over the past eight years,” Kfund team, commented.

  • The new fund was supported by investors from the public sector and corporations, as well as business angels from all over Spain.
