Reykjavík-based sound simulation and synthetic acoustic data company Treble has raised $18 million in a Series A-2 round led by Paladin Capital Group, with participation from existing investors KOMPAS VC, Frumtak Ventures, and the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund.
- Founded in 2020 by Dr. Finnur Pind and Jesper Pedersen, Treble develops a cloud-based platform that simulates how sound behaves in real-world environments and generates synthetic audio datasets for AI development.
- Its technology enables companies to create digital twins of rooms, vehicles, devices, and other acoustic environments without relying solely on physical recordings and measurements.
- Treble's platform is designed to help engineering teams evaluate audio performance and generate labelled training data before physical prototypes are built. The company works with consumer and industrial technology companies, including Amazon and Logitech.
Details of the deal
- The fresh capital will support Treble's expansion into the US and accelerate the development of its acoustic intelligence platform for physical AI, robotics, wearables, vehicles, and other intelligent devices.
- The company aims to help AI systems combine auditory and visual perception to better understand and operate in complex physical environments, including those with background noise, reverberation, and changing acoustic conditions.
- The latest round follows Treble's €11 million Series A announced in September 2024, bringing the company's total funding raised to approximately €36 million.
