London-based spacetech firm Spaceflux, which provides AI-powered tracking and analytics to monitor and manage space objects, enhancing space safety and reducing orbital congestion, has secured £5.4 million in a seed funding round.
- Established in 2022 by Marco Rocchetto, Spaceflux specializes in cutting-edge space situational awareness (SSA) technologies designed to tackle the escalating issues of orbital congestion and space security.
- The company maintains a proprietary global network of ground-based optical telescopes outfitted with visible and Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR) sensors, allowing nonstop monitoring of satellites and debris across all orbital regions, from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to Geostationary Orbit (GEO) and beyond.
- Its AI-powered Cortex analytics platform processes sensor data in near real-time, offering precise tracking, detailed characterization, and predictive insights into space objects.
- Leveraging advanced optical hardware alongside sophisticated machine learning techniques, Spaceflux delivers critical intelligence to governments, satellite operators, insurers, and other key stakeholders.
Details of the deal
- The funding round was co-led by UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund (UKI2S), managed by Future Planet Capital, along with Foresight Group and Blackfinch Ventures, with early support from the Seraphim Space Accelerator.
- By securing this investment, the company will be able to broaden its tracking services to serve a wider range of clients, including government and commercial stakeholders.
- Additionally, it will support efforts to improve space safety and promote sustainability amid the rising challenges of orbital congestion.
"This investment supports our mission to deliver sovereign, high-precision space situational awareness that keeps satellites safe and space sustainable for future generations," Spaceflux's team, commented on LinkedIn.
