Paris-based venture capital firm Sofinnova Partners has raised €650 million for Fund XI, bringing its total capital raised to €1.5 billion. The fund will invest in 50 to 60 new companies, fueling the next wave of innovation in biotech and medtech.
- Launched in 1972, Sofinnova Partners is a European life sciences venture capital firm specializing in healthcare, biotech, medtech, and sustainability. The firm invests in early- to later-stage companies across Europe and North America, using a science-driven, hands-on approach to back pioneering ventures that address urgent unmet clinical needs.
- With over €4 billion under management, the firm emphasizes long-term partnerships with entrepreneurs, supporting both initial and follow-on rounds, and has backed over 500 companies globally, creating market leaders in life sciences innovation, such as Actelion, Genfit, Poxel, Valneva, and DBV Technologies.
- The €650 million Sofinnova Capital XI fund will invest in early-stage biotech and medtech companies across Europe and the US, supporting 50 to 60 ventures that address unmet clinical needs.
- It will provide both initial and follow-on financing to help companies advance their therapies and technologies, offering strategic support to drive the development of the next generation of biopharmaceutical and medical innovations.
