NEURA Robotics secures €1B and partners with AWS to scale cognitive robotics and physical AI

German robotics firm NEURA Robotics has secured over $1 billion in strategic investment to advance its physical AI platform. Investors include Tether, Amazon, Qualcomm Ventures, Bosch, and Schaeffler.

  • Founded in 2019 by David Reger, NEURA Robotics develops cognitive robotics systems designed to operate in human environments with minimal dedicated safety infrastructure.
  • The company builds humanoid and industrial robots such as MAiRA and 4NE1, alongside service and household systems like MiPA, focused on machines that can perceive their surroundings, process information in real time, and adapt through embedded AI.
  • NEURA develops its core technology stack in-house, including AI models, sensors, control software, and mechanical systems. Its robots integrate these components to support vision, hearing, touch, and autonomous decision-making, enabling deployment across manufacturing, logistics, inspection, and assistance tasks.
  • Central to its strategy is the Neuraverse, a cloud-connected platform where robots and developers share data, applications, and skills, enabling continuous learning and system-wide improvement across deployments.

Details of the deal

  • Alongside funding, NEURA has also entered a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), which will provide the German company with infrastructure for continuous model training, real-time data processing, and fleet-level intelligence, enabling robots to operate and adapt autonomously at scale.

“NEURA represents exactly the kind of transformative thinking required to unlock the full potential of physical AI. Their open platform approach addresses the industry’s most critical challenge – the data gap – and we’re excited to support their mission with AWS’s scalable cloud infrastructure," explains Jason Bennett, VP and Global Head of Startups and Venture Capital at AWS.

  • The funding, together with the AWS partnership, is aimed at scaling cognitive robotics from pilot systems to industrial deployment by linking real-world operations with simulation and cloud-based training.
