Cambridge-based Flok Health, an AI-operated physiotherapy clinic, has raised $12.5 million in an oversubscribed Series A round led by AlbionVC, with participation from Eka VC, Form Ventures, and Mercia Ventures, as Vestbee was told.
- Founded in 2022 by Finn Stevenson and Ric da Silva, Flok Health has built an AI-powered physiotherapy platform that delivers end-to-end musculoskeletal care through a mobile app, providing same-day assessments, automated triage, and personalised exercise-based treatment plans, with escalation to human clinicians when required.
- The service is deployed across 11 NHS regions in the UK and is available to more than 2.4 million patients, offering 24/7 access to care without traditional waiting lists.
- Clinical data reported by the company shows patients improve their musculoskeletal health scores by an average of 6.16 points, reflecting better pain levels, mobility, and daily function, while over 80% of users rate the experience as equivalent or better than face-to-face physiotherapy.
- The platform is also certified as a Class IIa medical device and approved by the UK Care Quality Commission as a regulated healthcare provider.
Details of the deal
- The fresh funding will enable Flok Health to scale its AI back pain service across the UK, expand into new clinical pathways including hip and knee pain and women’s pelvic health, and support its expansion into international markets.
"We’re particularly proud to already be scaling our AI MSK clinic in the NHS, and seeing incredible results for patients and services. This new funding will allow us to more rapidly scale our existing back pain service, and to expand the scope of our AI-operated clinic to fully manage new high volume clinical pathways, and new international markets," explains Finn Stevenson, co-founder and CEO at Flok Health.
