Stockholm- and New York-based edtech firm imagi has secured $4.5 million in a seed funding round led by Brighteye Ventures and Day One Capital, with participation from FemInvest, We Are Human, and angel investors including Mati Staniszewski, Thomas Dohmke, and Fredrik Hjelm, as Vestbee was informed.
- Founded in 2018 by Dora Palfi and Beatrice Ionascu, imagi develops an AI literacy platform designed to help K-12 schools introduce artificial intelligence safely and effectively into classrooms.
- The company provides students with supervised access to AI tools through curriculum-aligned lessons, while offering teachers training, educational resources, and safety controls to guide AI adoption in schools.
- The platform enables students to learn AI, coding, and computer science through hands-on projects, helping them use AI as a creative tool rather than simply as a shortcut.
- Through partnerships with OpenAI and Lovable, imagi integrates AI tools into classroom learning with safety guardrails and structured teaching materials. The company’s platform is currently used across more than 100 school districts, reaching over 700,000 students in 140 countries and more than 30,000 educators.
Details of the deal
- The fresh funding will enable imagi to scale its AI literacy platform across US K-12 schools, integrate additional frontier AI tools, expand teacher training programmes, grow its US-based team, and invest in compliance and research to strengthen its position as a trusted AI education platform for schools.
