Brighteye Ventures has secured a $72 million first close of its third fund, bringing the firm’s total assets under management to $245 million. The fund will back early-stage European startups developing technologies shaping the future of learning and work.
- Founded in 2018, Brighteye Ventures invests in companies focused on learning and work. The firm has backed more than 50 companies to date, which have collectively raised over $1 billion.
- Fund III expands Brighteye’s investment strategy beyond traditional edtech toward what the firm calls the “HumanOS,” focusing on technologies that help people learn, work, and adapt in the age of AI.
- The fund will invest in startups applying AI to learning and education, as well as productivity platforms, talent software, and labor marketplaces. It will also target technologies serving sectors including healthcare, education, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and climate.
- Fund III attracted new investors including Lumina Foundation, Zanichelli Venture, and PI Impact, alongside existing LPs the European Investment Fund (EIF), Jacobs Foundation, and several European family offices.
- Brighteye has already made eight investments through Fund III, including imagi, Gyver, and NEX Health Intelligence, with several additional investments yet to be announced.
- The firm expects to make up to 35 investments from the new fund over the coming years and is looking to back founders building at the intersection of AI, learning, productivity, and labor infrastructure.
