London-based deep-tech VC fund Baobab Ventures has announced a $15 million solo GP fund to back global pre-seed and seed stage technical teams in AI, robotics, and defence, with support from several LPs including Cendana Capital, Isomer Capital, and RSJ Investments.
- Founded by Carles Reina, Baobab Ventures is an operator-driven, deep-tech VC fund that invests in pre-seed and seed stage startups worldwide, with a focus on AI, robotics, and defence. Leveraging his experience as an operator at ElevenLabs, Uber EMEA, Tractable AI, and Sonantic, Carles provides founders with hands-on support in GTM, product strategy, customer introductions, hiring, and operations to help startups quickly grow.
- Baobab Fund plans to invest $300,000 to $350,000 per startup at pre-seed and seed stages, focusing on rapidly scaling technical teams in AI, robotics, and defence, while providing hands-on operator support to accelerate GTM, product development, and international expansion.
- Baobab Ventures has made seven investments to date, including notable startups such as Theker Robotics, Omnia, Murphy AI, and Altan AI that are already public, with three more yet to be announced.

- The $15 million Baobab Ventures fund was backed by institutional LPs Cendana Capital, Isomer Capital, RSJ Investments, Emergence Ventures, Cyber Fund, plus angels including Mario Götze, Dr. Fatima Godall, and partners from Concept and Credo Ventures.
