New Venture Funds:
- UK-based VC Notion Capital raises its fifth, €300M fund. The firm will support early-stage fintech and software startups throughout Europe.
- French investor Ring Mission Impact announces a €66M fund. The firm will support impact ventures around the globe with €500k to €5M tickets.
- Founder of Rohlik.cz Tomáš Čupr kickstarts a family office TCF Capital. The fund will "focus primarily on domestic and regional markets in areas such as e-commerce, technology, FMCG and real estate".
- Greek VC Uni.Fund makes the first close of its second, €50M fund to invest in European university spinouts, investing €200k to €1.5M. The firm will invest across sectors and industries while focusing on energy, the circular economy, AI, IoT, Healthtech related to aging populations, Foodtech, Fintech, and insurtech.
- UK-based Octopus Investments kickstarts £40M fund to invest in Europe and UK. The firm will invest in pre-seed deep tech startups including but not limited to quantum solutions, photonics / electronics, advanced materials, robotics, agtech, AI and climate tech.
- Polish investor Radix Ventures debuts a €25M-big deep tech fund. The firm will invest throughout CEE.
- EIF invests €25M in Radix Ventures, a new Polish VC fund for deeptech startups. The investment will support deeptech innovation in Poland and the CEE region.
- Paris-based Mozza has launched Mozza Angels, a business angel syndicate aimed at elevating the product culture in the European tech ecosystem.
Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions:
- Czech VC Tensor Ventures leads a €4.3M round into a German hybrid quantum platform Quantogonia to support the startup's product development and business expansion.
- Estonian no-code customer engagement platform Formaloo gets €2M seed investment to invest more in marketing throughout their primary markets and towards expanding in the UK and Canada. The round was led by Change Ventures, joined by Hyde Park Venture Partners, Mana Ventures, and Startup Wise Guys.
- Polish film animation platform EveHor R&D raises 1M PLN to invest in the development of its EH MovieStudio . The investment was led by Scanderia Venture.
- Polish teletherapy startup Wellbee receives investment from bValue Fund.
- Czech vc Lighthouse Ventures exits the investment from a local post-purchase platform Foxdeli to a Prime Fund. The size of the transaction remains undisclosed but is rumored to be around €1M.
- Estonian ticketing platform Piletilevi Group acquires a Romanian platform Bilete.ro to expand outside the Baltics. The size of the investment remains undisclosed.
- Polish electronics rental marketplace Plenti receives 1M PLN investment to expand the business. The investment was received by EKIPA Investments.
- Ukrainian Angel One Fund bets $200k tickets into two local startups: teletherapy platform Rozmova and EV charging software GO TO-U.
- Czech care-enhancing platform Datlowe receives an undisclosed-sum investment to expand abroad. The investment was made by Linet Zbyňek Frolíka.
- Czech art marketplace 100ks receives an undisclosed-sum investment from Miton Group.
- Romanian-founded inventory management platform Dexory has raised $19 million in a Series A funding round led by Atomico.
- Slovak gaming tech company SuperScale raises $5.4M in Series A round led by Venture to Future Fund.
- Hungarian foodtech Munch raises undisclosed seed funding to tackle food waste. The investment round was led by Fiedler Capital with participation from various venture capital firms and angel investors.
Startup Calls:
- Applications to AWS Global Fintech Accelerator are open now. This equity-free online program is designed to empower AI-driven Fintech startups for global success with product, business, and investment support. Apply till August 14th.
- European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) kickstarts a deeptech programme CERN VentureConnect. The startups accepted into the program could use CERN's research tools for a 0% equity and 2% of net sales when the accrued amount growth over €20.5k. The applications are reviewed and accepted on the recurring basis.
- Swedish VC J12 opens up a Nexus program for pre-seed and seed data / AI startups from Europe. The program will provide €200k - €1M investment, mentoring and 1x1 training from prominent executives leading companies like Google Deepmind, MongoDB, GitHub, Meta, and Klarna. The deadline hasn't been announced yet but the program is planned to start this Autumn.
- Kyiv is soon to host an Industry 5.0 Conference. The event will gather NGOs, business associations, clusters, SMEs, and startups on the 14th of July.

- Apply to Luxembourg's Fit 4 Start accelerator program till August 14, 2023. Europe based startups in digital, health tech, and space fields can receive up to €150,000 in equity-free funding.
- BoostUp Europe 2023 Call invites mature startups to solve industrial challenges from partners like Volkswagen AG and Dana Inc. Top-5 startups receive €30,000 grants for a proof of concept. Apply by 1 September 2023.
