New VC Funds
- US private equity firm Carlyle Group raises a $3.12Bn-large fund to invest in lower mid-market and growth-stage European B2B tech. The fund will seek €100M to €500M deals and issue cheques of up to €250M in size.
- European VC Peak grabs €150M for its fifth fund to support European early-stage startups. The firm will deploy €250k to €4M into SaaS, marketplace, and platform founders.
- Teleclinic founder debuts a €100M digital health VC YZR. The firm will back early-stage European startups building digital medical devices, virtual health services, and back-end software.
- UK social innovation agency Nesta announces the creation of its investment arm - Nesta Impact Investments. The firm will support early-stage startups across Europe that are delivering positive social and environmental impact.
CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions
- Virtual tour camera startup for real estate Giraffe360 raises $16M series A. The round was led by Founders Fund and saw participation from its existing investors among LAUNCHub Ventures, Hoxton Ventures, HCVC, and Change Ventures.
- Payment infrastructure provider MANGOPAY acquires Polish anti-fraud platform Nethone to enhance its service. The size of the transaction is reported to be around 350M PLN.
- Dutch martech platform ScanmarQED buys out a Czech marketing data analysis/budget optimization startup Roivenue to further strengthen its market position. The size of the transaction remains undisclosed.
- UK motion capture startup Move.ai receives $6M that saw participation from a Polish VC RKKVC.
- Czech-founded room painter service app Adam raises 25M Kč to expand the business. The round was Presto Ventures and Martin Villig.
- License management platform Licenseware gets a €1M late seed round for further product development. The round was led by Early Game Ventures and joined by Fortech Investments, Acequia Capital, Hellen's Rock Capital, and the company's past investors.
- Marketplace of engineering capacities Factoree raises 22M Kč to expand into Western Europe. The round was joined by Presto Ventures, Depo Ventures and SFG Holding.
- Walking platform Walk15 raises €400k investment for product development and business expansion. The round was joined by Business Angels Fund II and a number of business angels.
- Order management platform Restimo raises 1.2M PLN for further business development. The round was co-led by the founders of Amano Małgorzata Sitkowska and Nicolas Jedraszak, together with the founder of Glodny.pl Michał Zawiasa.
- Web3 gamedev ecosystem Elypmics wins a pitching contest Next Block Expo and receives $100k investment from the challenge partners.
Coffee waste recycling startup Ecobean closes an investment round to accelerate product development and start foreign expansion. The round was joined by EIT InnoEnergy, CofounderZone, CIECH Ventures and a number of business angels from COBIN Angels. - Cargo scooter company Bruntor Cargo wins EIT Jumpstarter mobility challenge and gets €10k to finance its next prototype.
Startup Calls
- Oil refiner and petrol retailer ORLEN seeks startups for its Skylight accelerator. The program is open for industry 4.0 companies and the applications will last till the 21st of December.
- Polish foodtech.ac accelerator invites participants for tis foodtech party on the 8th of December. Those deciding to come around will have a chance of seeing the pitching of the accelerator's last batch, as well as to taste the products of those companies.
- BoostUp! Bridge 2022 Grand Final in Vienna invites any interested vieweres to join the finale of the challenge. The even will see 20 industry 4.0 startups battling for the €30k cash prize and EIT Manufacturing support. The event will occur between 9:30 and 18:00 in Vienna or online tomorrow, 6th of December.
