Bulagria-founded robotics and automation startup UVIONIX secures $3.5M to launch its product

California-based robotics and automation startup UVIONIX, which develops AI-powered autonomous flying robots for real-time inventory monitoring, has secured $3.5 million in seed funding to accelerate its product launch and expand its market presence across the US and Europe, as Vestbee was informed.

  • Founded in 2024 by Boris Iskrev and Stanislav Darmonski, UVIONIX is a California-based robotics and automation company specializing in autonomous inventory management.
  • The startup develops U-Vee, a compact, AI-powered flying robot designed for real-time warehouse inventory monitoring with 99.9% accuracy. By creating digital twins of warehouse spaces, U-Vee automates stock checks, reducing errors and operational costs.
  • UVIONIX’s Autonomous Inventory Management System leverages AI and automation to optimize warehouse operations. The system enhances inventory accuracy, minimizes manual labor, and improves data transparency, enabling more efficient logistics and supply chain management.

Details of the deal

  • The seed round was led by LAUNCHub Ventures, a Sofia-based VC firm supporting companies in Central and Southeastern Europe with investments ranging from €300,000 to €2 million, and leading rounds up to €4 million, and PortfoLion, a Budapest-based venture capital and private equity arm of OTP Bank, made the acquisition. The firm manages €440 million in assets and supports startups across various sectors in the CEE region.

“The adoption of warehouse robotics has reached a critical inflection point. In response to the e-commerce boom of the past decade, warehouses increased capacity and operations. We believe Boris and the Uvionix team, with their deep expertise in drone technology, are uniquely positioned to guide warehouses into the future," claims Daniel Kiss-Kiraly, Principal at PortfoLion.

  • The round also saw participation from Underline Ventures, Robin Capital, and prominent angels.
  • UVIONIX will use the $3.5 million in seed funding to accelerate product release, expand its market presence in the US and Europe, and forge strategic partnerships with logistics and retail companies. The company will also grow its engineering and AI teams in Bulgaria and the US to attract top talent and support its rapid growth in warehouse automation.

“This funding is a pivotal step toward realizing our vision of making supply chain management smarter, faster, and more transparent. We are grateful for the trust and support of our investors and excited to deliver a product that we believe will transform the way warehouses operate globally," CEO of Uvionix, Boris Iskrev, commented in a press release.
