Copenhagen-based startup Spaak Technologies, which builds tech to strengthen democracy and Public Affairs, has raised €1.5 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Node.vc, with participation from J12, to transform Public Affairs with AI.
- Founded in 2024 by Marcus Nerløe, Arthur Storm, Lucas Damsgaard, and Karl-Emil Plum, Spaak Technologies develops AI-powered tools for Public Affairs.
- The company is building Hamilton, an operating system for Public Affairs professionals that centralizes political data, improves transparency, and streamlines advocacy work.
- Hamilton automates research, tracks legislative developments, and provides insights to help organizations, NGOs, consultancies, and trade associations navigate the political landscape efficiently.
"Our vision is to make democracy the undisputed best option on the table—anywhere in the world. By improving transparency and reducing bureaucracy, Hamilton will empower advocates and regulators alike to create faster, smarter, and more transparent democratic processes," Spaak Technologies' founders, commented in a statement.
Details of the deal
- The pre-seed round was led by Node.vc, a Stockholm-based early-stage venture capital firm that backs tech startups. J12, another Stockholm-based VC firm with a portfolio of over 40 companies across Europe, and additional partners, also joined the round.

- The fresh funding will accelerate Hamilton's development, enhance AI capabilities, expand the team, and scale operations. It will also help with customer acquisition and build stronger relationships with key organizations in the public affairs space.
