German spreadsheet platform Rows secures €8M led by Indico Capital Partners

Berlin-based spreadsheet platform Rows has secured €8 million in funding to expand its operations in the US, UK, and Europe and further develop its platform. The investment was led by Indico Capital Partners, with participation from Cherry Ventures, Accel, Lakestar, and Armilar Venture Partners. 

  • Founded in 2016 by Torben Schulz and Humberto Ayres Pereira, Rows develops an AI-powered spreadsheet platform designed to enhance data management and analysis. 
  • The platform offers several key features, including rapid data import from various sources, an AI Analyst for efficient data extraction and interpretation, and robust collaborative sharing tools. Users can seamlessly connect to cloud-based applications, import and analyze data with ease.
  • Rows collaborated with several marketing platforms that are linked to its platform, including Notion, Facebook Pages, Instagram, and Google Analytics.

Details of the deal 

  • The funding round was led by Indico Capital Partners, a Lisbon-based venture capital firm that invests in international tech startups, with a focus on sectors such as SaaS, artificial intelligence, blockchain, IoT, fintech, cybersecurity, and digital companies.
  • Berlin-based VC Cherry Ventures that funds European entrepreneurs, global venture capital company Accel, European VC firm Lakestar, and Lisbon-based Armilar Venture Partners that invests in Portuguese startups, also joined the round.
  • With the fresh capital, Rows plans to further advance its AI-based worksheet platform to revolutionize data workflows for business and marketing experts. The startup also aims to continue expanding its operations across the US, UK, and Europe.
