Polish-founded cybersecurity startup Relock, which develops software to protect APIs, has secured €900,000 in a pre-seed round led by Early Game, as Vestbee was told. This investment marks Early Game's first commitment from its newly launched EGV Fund II.
- Torun- and Austin-based Relock was founded by Marcin Sznyra, Przemek Czerklewicz, and Bartosz Boniecki. The startup develops a secure-by-default solution designed to eliminate all known forms of sensitive data breaches, such as thefts and leaks.
- Relock focuses on protecting APIs by offering real-time protection, immediate threat detection, and proactive measures to address cybersecurity gaps, thereby reducing prolonged periods of vulnerability.
"The new high-frequency secrets rotation engine we developed bridges many security vulnerabilities. The early adopters have appreciated its value for APIs, as well as other critical uses, such as cloud assets or user security. Thanks to Early Game, we can accelerate our product development with the first applications coming soon,” founder and CTO of Relock, Marcin Sznyra, shared in a statement.
Details of the deal
- The investment was backed by Bucharest-based Early Game Ventures. In May, it launched a €60 million Fund II to invest in early-stage startups that operate in emerging sectors such as blockchain, electric vehicles, NPL, Big Data, AI, cybersecurity, hardware and robotics, within Europe's emerging markets.
"As the digital environment becomes increasingly ingrained in our world, cybersecurity threats are constantly evolving. Investing in advanced cybersecurity solutions now holds the potential to not only address today's critical problems, but also to become a transformative force for global technology as it matures,” Early Game Partner, Florin Visa, said.
